For villas, houses and building projects that require roof-mounted flat plate collectors with a separate hot-water storage tank. Select your system by hot-water demand, operating pressure, roof conditions, piping layout and backup strategy.

A split solar water heating system separates the solar thermal collectors from the insulated hot-water storage tank. The collector field is typically on the roof or in a suitable exposed area, while the tank is located in a plant room or another accessible position. The solar circulation loop transports collected heat to storage through an appropriate exchange method.
This page describes an integrated system purchase, not just a collector panel. If you only need flat plate collector units for your own engineered system, visit Ηλιακός συλλέκτης επίπεδης πλάκας.
Select tested model, area, mounting, hydraulic connections and required operating temperature.
Select nominal volume, usable draw-off, heat exchange, insulation, potable-water materials and access for service.
Define sensors, pump station, safety components, frost/stagnation strategy and boiler/electric/heat-pump backup as applicable.
The correct collector area and tank size depend on usage rather than a fixed capacity label. Ask for the selected model's actual datasheet, hydraulic drawings and written bill of materials.
| System element | What the buyer should confirm | Quotation information |
|---|---|---|
| Daily hot water demand | Litres/day, peak-hour draw, delivery temperature, inlet water conditions | Occupancy and usage schedule, not just number of bathrooms |
| Flat plate collector | Collector model, area basis, tested performance, flow, pressure drop and mounting | Roof usable area, climate, roof loading and array orientation |
| Storage cylinder | Tank volume, heat-exchanger arrangement, insulation, rated pressure and water contact materials | Water chemistry, required recovery, plant-room footprint |
| Circulation / controls | Pump duty, piping losses, sensors, control logic and safety equipment | Pipe lengths, height difference and local service conditions |
| Εφεδρική θέρμανση | Backup source, heat capacity, available electricity/fuel and priority logic | Demand during cloudy periods and maximum recovery time |
| Procurement scope | Collector only, collector + tank, or complete packaged system | Included accessories, installation responsibility, packaging and Incoterms |
A 200L or 300L label is not by itself a guarantee of household suitability. Collector yield, effective mixed hot-water delivery, peak consumption, temperature and backup performance all matter. Exact performance and warranty terms require model-level verification.
The roof collector heats its transfer fluid. A correctly selected circulation and heat exchange arrangement sends that energy to the remote storage tank when available solar conditions justify operation.
The tank stores useful heat for draw-off periods. The system designer must check usable storage and the temperatures available at actual peak demand.
Freeze protection, high-temperature/stagnation management, pressure control, mixing safety and materials compatibility depend on product design and location. Verify each with the supplied model documents and applicable codes.
A boiler, electric heater or compatible heat pump may cover shortfalls. Specify the capacity, operating sequence and allowed temperatures before purchase.
For an application-based comparison of circulation architectures, read Forced Circulation vs Thermosiphon. For thermal components alone, use the collector product page.
Compare daily draw, maximum simultaneous consumption, usable mixed-water temperature, collector heat input and backup recovery. The right solution may involve different nominal storage depending on the project. See our 200L vs 300L villa capacity guide.
Roof-tank distance, height difference, pipe insulation, pump head and maintenance access should be agreed before ordering. See villa split-system installation planning.

The defining configuration places the solar collector and storage tank separately. Actual suitable locations, pipe distances and system components depend on model and site engineering.
No. Pressure rating and circulation type are separate specification questions. Confirm the potable-water pressure, collector loop rating, heat-exchanger design and suitable system configuration.
Scope varies by quotation. Request an itemized bill of materials and clear responsibilities for mounting, piping, controls, tank, backup and commissioning.
Send the application (villa, home or building), country, occupants or actual water demand, expected peak use, delivery temperature, proposed tank capacity, collector roof space and need for backup heating. SOLETKS can review suitable collector-and-tank packages and quote the agreed supply scope.
